Introducing El Dorado Hills Chiropractor, Dr. Doug Murray

El Dorado Hills, California Chiropractor, Dr. Doug MurrayI can clearly remember what it was like before I discovered chiropractic. At the age of 25, I felt like I was 75.  I was suffering from low-back pain that radiated down the back of my legs (Sciatica).  After consuming countless pills in order to work and sleep I thought, "There’s got to be a better way."

I finally went to a Chiropractor.  I found out that falling off of bikes, etc. when I was a kid resulted in some spinal joint dysfunction that didn't cause symptoms until 10 to 15 years later.  After a few weeks of care, the pain was gone!  But that's not all that happened.

Dr. Judy Forrester (a fantastic chiropractor in Calgary) taught me that true health comes from a spine that doesn’t interfere with the nervous system.  I guess she was right because soon after my back pain went away, my frequent heart-burn improved and I got colds a lot less often.  That turned me into a chiropractor advocate.  I was telling everyone about this exciting new thing that I found.  I was so impressed that I decided to pursue Chiropractic as a career.

Nine academic years later, which included a move from Canada to California for Palmer Chiropractic College, I graduated in 1990 and realized my dream of helping others with Chiropractic.  In the mean time, my wife and I fell in love with California and decided to call it home.

We love it here away from the big city.  It feels like a close community with great people.  The mountains call us often as we enjoy a lot of hiking and skiing.  I believe that a variety of physical activities are pivotal to good health and I include it into all my patient’s treatment plans.

Speaking of treatment plans, my goal is to get my patients pain free within a few treatments.  My system of treatment is very effective for that.  What gets me up in the morning is the kick of seeing other people after a few treatments realizing what they had been missing for so many years.  I just smile and tell them to spread the good news.  For most of them, that’s just a given.

Professional footnotes:  I am fully certified in National and State Chiropractic Boards.  I hold an X-ray Supervisor license and a Professional CPR rating.  I am also adjunct faculty for Palmer Chiropractic College and MTI College teaching anatomy and physiology.

Dr. Doug Asks some important questions of interest to El Dorado Hills residents - Chiropractor El Dorado Hills Dr. Doug Asks...

How could chiropractic help a stomach problem?
Chiropractic works by locating and reducing areas of the spine compromising nerve communications between your brain and your body. If nerves to or from your stomach are irritated, your stomach won't work right. Chiropractors find the source of the interference, reduce it and allow your body to work as designed.
Why are chiropractors wary of the germ theory?
Louis Pasteur originated the idea that germs caused disease. Yet, on his deathbed he recanted, declaring, "It's not the seed, but the soil." Meaning, it's not the germ that causes disease, but the condition of the body that allows the germ to thrive. Chiropractic care in our El Dorado Hills office is designed to bolster your resistance so germs don't see you as a good host.
